Two parts make the long spar tied in place then the 100 and 77cm spars are set. The sliding knots on the vertical spars provide additional sail tension.

"In the publications of the Deutsche Seewarte and others, this model is also referred to as the 'Modell Deutsche Seewarte 1904' (previous kites also bear the year of the year of construction), which was built in two forms, each in two sizes, and also on the two measurement The 'Navy' and 'Seagull' ships were used in accordance with the prevailing wind conditions: with and without wings.The large shape is 214 cm long, 110 cm deep and has a wingspan of almost 350 cm. Finally, two years after acquiring the kite, we flew the modern version of Modell Deutsche Seewarte 1904 x 0.65 on Blackheath on the first Sunday flying after three months of lockdown.

It was a glorious sunny day.

The kite flew beautifully on the variable light breeze occasionally catching a tentative thermal.

The configuration of the wing spreader is a slight mystery. I would assume that it would be bowed backwards to the wing tips but that was not the way it was flying today.
