This kite was given to the team by Karen Svenstrup in 2018
A small tear in the sail fabric on the back of the kite was repaired using sail repair tape in 2018.

The 1991 Parafoil was initially flown at about the time of one of the Art Kite arena presentations but there was not quite enough wind at that moment. It was flown later with the 1992 Parafoil which is rather more manageable.

The project today was to fly the two parafoils together. We started with the larger 1991 kite on about 50m of 4mm braided spectra. Once we had it in the air and it appeared settled we set about launching the smaller 1990 kite which was flown from the same ground anchor.
We did manage to capture a short section of flight on video and also some of the preparation of the kite sail for launch.

The wind was only about 8mph which must be the lowest in which these kites will launch. The kite needs to be taken off the centre of the wind window and having ensured that all the bridle lines are running free and taut the cells can be inflated one by one until the kite is self supporting and can launch...
