Revolution Design 1992
The second Rev 1 design that Jørgen did for the team was done alongside the design for four rokkaku kites in preparation for a trip to the USA. The first venue was Denver, the second Lubbock.
We were hoping to have a set of this design re-made in 2020 in the 'Zen' format. They finally arrived in March 2022.
Plans for 1992 design in Zen format, March 2021.
Team set as for Denver/Lubbock 1992
Additional sails as from original set 1992
New sails arrived 28th March 2022.
This project was started immediately after the Portsmouth event in 2019.
There were delays in obtaining materials due to shipping issues amongst other things. Special thanks to Martin Lester and Randy Tom as well as Revolution for helping us realise this project.

Rok'n'Rev 1992 - 2022, Original Roks by Jørgen Møller Hansen from 1992 (Red sail re-made) and new Rev sails in the 1992 design modified for the 'Not Zen' sails.
The project to revisit the 1992 Rok'n'Rev kites to 'celebrate' the 30th anniversary was initiated immediately after the 2019 Portsmouth event and the replacement Rok sail and the sets of Revolution sails arrived in London on 28th March 2022, just in time for Cervia!
The plan was to fly the stack of four Rokkaku kites as a target for the Revs but the wind conditions were not quite right for a tethered launch on 28th April.
Blackheath 10th April 2022.
New sails, second flight...
Adjustments to bungees have been made including re-tying the leading edge end tip knots into two knots rather than one which was compressing the sail.
Thanks to Marian Linford for these images at the start of the session.
Blackheath 3rd April 2022.
New sails, first flight...
The 1992 design for the Revolution 1 by Jørgen Møller Hansen has been modified slightly for the Zen proportioned sail.
Blackheath 20th March 2022.
The stack of the 1991 and 1992 sails had been slightly reconfigured and flown today with the two 1992 Rokkakus, also in train.
Blackheath 13th March 2022.
The stack of the 1991 and 1992 design sails was flown as a first fix today.
Blackheath 9th January 2022.
There was not quite enough consistent wind to keep tha tethered Roks in the air.
The 1992 sails have survived in remarkably good condition. The yellow sail is noticeably softer but there did not appear to be any leading edge degradation on it or the other sails.
Images thanks to Marian Linford.
Original sails found as at 7th January 2022.
Stuffed in bags without sticks, hanging on a hook at the top of the steps leading down to the cellar!
Replacing shock cords and adding stacking links as at March 5th 2022.
The gauze and leading edge dacron have been replaced at some point on the yellow sail.
The three 1992 sails are done and three sails in the 1991 graphic are to be stacked as well.
These images are from a collection of slides that Jørgen made in Lubbock.
