Thanks to Marian Linford for the images.
There were a couple of false starts but the Roks were certainly ready to fly in the available breeze.
The lifter kite was really not ready to fly at ground level. Once in the air it sometimes did perform as a lifter but it also worked as a drogue which was good for keeping the stack stable in the marginal conditions.
Having got the stack in the air the wind shifted and by the time it landed it was at 90 degrees to the launch point.

Flying the red sail today. Variable breeze again, often too much really.

Back to practical matters and a variable easterly breeze. Too much one minute, too little the next.
The back kite had to be encouraged to stabilise but the angle of attack of the whole set was the real issue it seems...
We may have to go back to the single kites 'anchored', in the short term
Cervia 22nd April - 1st May 2022
The plan was to fly the stack of four Rokkaku kites as a target for the Revs but the wind conditions were not quite right for a tethered launch on 28th April.
