Leominster and Hereford Kite Festival, Berrington Hall 2024
Saturday 13th July
Light winds were forecast for the weekend so we anticipated flying the Jørgen Møller Hansen 3m Rokkakus.
The other light wind option was a Revolution Stack, in this case the 1991 and 1992 designs by Jørgen Møller Hansen in the original Rev1 size which were flown as a six stack on Saturday.
We also put together two sets of the JMH 1985 Rhombus-Shaped Kites but there really was not enough wind speed to get them stable.
Sunday 14th July
The late banners by Jørgen Møller Hansen were set up and we flew the new 2m Rokkaku in the design prepared for the kite pin project in 1993.
The 2m Rokkaku in the 'pin' design from 1993.
Drachen Design, in conjunction with the World Kite Museum in Long Beach, invited the team to participate in the 1993 Kite Pin Invitational and 1993 Fifth Anniversary Kite Exhibit.
We continued to fly the 3m Rokkakus and they certainly proved to be very successful in the lightest breeze. We did try the Late Delta by Jørgen Møller Hansen but with the wooden spar set it was just too heavy. We will address the sparing as soon as we can find appropriate supplies.
