Planning
Selected Kites and banners finalised as at 10th April 2024.
The plan is to fly any of these kites from 1993 & 1994 with the Jørgen Møller Hansen 1997 Revolution 1.5 set.
Flying the Double Malay and the Nine Squares together may be another challenge!

Prusik loops made out of 20cm lengths of Climax 'High Quality Filament'
I made up a bunch and gave them away at Cervia 2023 so it looks like a repeat performance for Cervia 2024.
Ten more Prusik loops in the making, cut ends sealed.

Saturday 2nd March.
Preparations for the Jørgen Møller Hansen Nine Squares 1993 kite.
Stick practice... As ever, careful checking revealed a partly broken element. I will probably set about plugging ends as a preventative measure.
Monday 4th March.
Drilling template required...
Monday 4th March.
Un-ravelling all the fittings makes me wonder if the kite can be packed in such away as to make setting-up a bit less puzzling.
Monday 4th March.
Marked for drilling. Maybe this is a slight weight saving exercise?
Monday 4th March.
Drilled and organised for anchor tying. Some fluffy line ends need consolidating!
Tuesday 5th March.
Anchor line preparation.
Tuesday 5th March.
Deciding how to set the anchor points was really determined by seeing how the first tie went into place. Finding that the tie point moved neatly and that two could be set in opposition made for a simple decision!

First anchor points tied.

Friday 8th March.
Team kites packing.
Monday 25th March.
16 RSS sails.
The full vent sails made in 2009/2010 are good for one more season of team flying but will not be included for Cervia.
The empty case...
First in, 8 mid vent sails.
1997 graphic, set of 8.
2018 RSS sails set of 8.
2018 RSS sails second set of 8.
Decision time.
The question was whether to add in both sets of Not Zen sails without spars and top off with the tarpaulin?
It looked somewhat unlikely...
With a little gentle persuasion everything fitted but the Not Zen spars will travel in one of the other cases. The centres are tight in the drum kit bags.
The Diamond Rod sets will not be taken as the Not Zen sails are the light wind option.
We need individual sets of rods for the Black Sails.
Line organisation... Wednesday 3rd April.
Tape, rubber hammer and small hacksaw...
These spectra lines are for the rokkaku kites when flown with the Revolution kites.
The main line set took some time to unravel. The single 'set' was converted into four c90ft lines which could be attached to the polyester line winders.
A final decision will have to be made regarding which parafoil will fit. Folded flat they do not take too much space but there really was not space, as at 10th April.
I had forgotten that one of the straps on the Ski Board Bag for JMH kites had worn badly for the second time. A piece of Rev Bag strap was a good match for a semi permanent repair.
Fortunately the doubled up strapping still fitted through the sliding clip.
Tuesday 9th April.
The additional travel strap was located and fitted.
Wednesday 10th April.
The weight of the ski board bag was too close to the limit so some heavier items, including the line sets were returned to the drum kit case.
Wednesday 10th April.
Last additions.
