I am sure that I did venture to Tottenham Mews back in the day and may also have visited Dering Street at some point but today I went to the new gallery at 16 Hanover Square which opened on 7th November 2025.

The gallery walls are a dark blue which is not fully saturated so probably gives the paintings a considerable lift but even so they really seemed bright and sparkling in colour.

I noticed in many of the paintings an unexpectedly extended palette with some very unusual greens making a very welcome presence!

The inclusion of some collaged photographs reminded me of some of Patrick Caufields best compositions.

The portrait works in the large back room with overhead daylight show the artist's continuing facility to capture the figures in a relaxed but convincing manner.

I enjoyed seeing these paintings demonstrating such energy and also seeing a long standing gallery established in a new easily accessible location.

I may well re-visit in the New Year given the generous length of the exhibition!

I remembered to visit for a quick final look before the exhibition closed.

The space still looked bright and sparkly... I wonder what the next exhibition will look like?
