I had chosen Seatown as the first destination as I had not placed Golden Cap, Langdon Hill and Thorncombe Beacon in relation to West Bay and Lyme Regis even though they feature so much along the coastline.
Golden Cap from the East on Seatown beach does not appear to be quite so dominant but that may be because Langdon Hill is not also in view.
The clouds kept up an illuminating light show.
Thorncombe Beacon is also not actually visible from Seatown beach but the approaching heights are similar to those seen from West Bay.
The height is not so apparent as it is from the West Bay side.
Looking east from Seatown beach.
Back to the west view and Lyme Regis was clear with the Beer chalk cliffs in the distance.
I headed for Winterborne St. Martin/Martinstown remembering the pub, The Brewers Arms, and hoping for a quick stop before attempting to capture Maiden Castle from Goulds Hill Barrows again.
When I stopped by late on Thursday afternoon the relief built cloud was just hanging around casting a dark shadow across the 'castle' with no indication that there would be a break in the cloud line.
I am aware that there are various locations around Maiden Castle where there are good sight lines but capturing panoramic images in multiple frames is always going to be a bit challenging.
Today I caught four of five sets of images, one with a two frame vertical configuration which I think combined for this last image.
I then hit the road for London getting to the A1 turn off on the North Circular Road in 3 hours only to take another hour to get to my home in Hackney.
